PRESTIGE DES SACRES & CH DE L'AUCHE

This project was born in the 1960s at the instigation of Mr René Lamblot and other winegrowers from Janvry, near Reims, who wanted to enhance the terroir of the western slopes of the Montagne de Reims.

Today, the 60 winegrowers of Champagne Prestige des Sacres & Champagne Ch. de l’Auche are building their own collective history around a common passion: they are the heirs of values handed down from generation to generation in the care of the vineyard. They own 115 hectares of vineyards in 40 different crus (including 5 Premiers Crus).

In the beginning, it was a group of winegrowers who created the Champagne Blanc de Noirs range from their vineyards, mostly planted with Pinot Meunier. Its name comes from the place where they settled, “l’Auche”, in Janvry, 15 kilometres west of Reims.

Prestige des Sacres was born later. Its name is closely linked to the history of France. During the coronation ceremonies of the kings in the cathedral of Reims, these wines were tasted. A particularly important event was the coronation of Louis XV in 1722. Hence the use of the royal crown and the colours and symbols of the time in their image.

More recently, they have been uncorked at the French Senate, the Musée d’Orsay, the Académie des Sciences, the Théâtre Odéon, Guerlain, the Ecole des Beaux-Arts…
