Robert Moncuit’s Réserve Perpétuelle Extra Brut combines the freshness and complexity of blending several vintages, starting with the 2006 vintage – aged in 140 hl oak barrels – and renewed each year with the addition of the latest vintage. It is a tasty, structured Blanc de Blancs champagne with a long finish. Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes from Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs.
“We pick the grapes when they are very ripe,” explains Pierre Amillet (Robert Moncuit’s grandson), “this allows us to obtain frank and expressive aromas while preserving a great freshness. This cuvée currently includes wines from 2006 to 2014. The grapes are pressed in a traditional press and the next day the wines are clarified and aged in barrels. Pierre Amillet selects the most expressive wines for this cuvée. Malolactic fermentation takes place and the wines are aged in barrels of 140hl.
A champagne with a low dosage of 3 g/l (which makes it Extra Brut) and a real complexity.
Contains sulphites.
TASTING NOTES
Intense golden colour with aromas of almonds, hazelnuts, honey and toasted bread. Its freshness is in perfect harmony with its great maturity. Very rich, complex and persistent. A cuvée that will find a pleasant resonance with seafood or sushi. Perfect as an aperitif and in gastronomic pairings.
FOOD PAIRING
Ideal with cheeses, cured meats, fish and seafood, nuts, foie gras and creams, as well as desserts.
Serve at 7ºC
