Les Grands Blancs – Extra Brut
100% Grand Cru Chardonnay Le Mesnil-sur-Oger
VITICULTURE & OENOLOGY
Les Grands Blancs is a champagne full of freshness, with that touch of delicacy and complexity that distinguishes great cuvées. Perfect for an aperitif.
Les Grands Blancs Robert Moncuit reflects the terroir of the house, which extends over 8 hectares over the villages of Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger. Two Grand Crus terroirs from the Côte des Blancs, famous for their Chardonnay, which produce compact wines of exceptional finesse. “We pick the very ripe grapes during the harvest,” explains Pierre Amillet, Robert Moncuit’s grandson. “This allows to obtain frank and expressive aromas, maintaining great freshness.”
The grapes are pressed in a traditional press. Then the wines are deposited and toned the next day. They are aged in oak, in 228-liter barrels. Malolactic fermentation takes place. At the beginning of May they are bottled and then spend 3 years in the winery where they carry out the second fermentation and develop their aromas.
The wine and the terroir to express themselves in the best way. It will go perfectly with an aperitif or at the beginning of a meal with a cold starter.
