Les Romarines Rosé – Extra Brut
Chardonnay & Pinot Noir Le Mesnil-sur-Oger & Ambonnay
VITICULTURE & OENOLOGY
Les Romarines cuvée is a fruity and generous rosé champagne. It is a cuvée that can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with a gourmet dish made with white meat. It is made on the same basis as the Les Grands Blancs cuvée. Some Grands Blancs barrels are selected for their fruitiness. These are barrels only from the Grand Cru terroir of Mesnil-sur-Oger. To this base, Pierre Amillet, Robert Moncuit’s grandson, adds around 7% red wine from Ambonnay, a Grand Cru terroir from the Montagne de Reims.
Les Romarines cuvée is made from the same vintage, but the year is not indicated on the bottle. After a minimum of 3 years in the cellar, the champagne is slaughtered and dosed in Extra Brut. It is a cuvée of intense, generous red fruit, with great maturity that balances the tension of the Mesnil-sur-Oger terroir.
